Pharrell’s Happy NOT Originally HIS Song

Posted: May 2, 2014 in Uncategorized

During an interview with Howard Stern, Pharrell Williams revealed to him and his listeners that his single “Happy” which has been topping the billboard charts and selling millions of copies digitally was NOT his song at first. He says in the interview that the song actually belonged to Ceelo Greene. The song was actually recorded in 2012 and was then released on “Despicable Me 2” film and then worked its way into the magic moments of music earlier this year (2014).

According to Pharrell, he said the song “Happy” was suppose to be on CeeLo’s latest album but his team did not choose to put the song on the album because of various reasons. He goes on to say that CeeLo’s version of “Happy” BURNS his version and CeeLo does not feel any type of way that he could have had a smash hit but instead gave it to Pharrell.
